Trail Report

02_05_2023_1Bitter cold and very high winds made the weekend tough for sledders and groomers alike.   We kept our operators safe Friday & Saturday night by keeping the machines tucked in the shed.   Today, our volunteers did double-duty by grooming both the daytime and night shifts getting the trails back to their usual state.   LOTS of drifts made the day of grooming slow as we worked to level off the trails again.   Be cautious while out in our system as drifted snow can sneak up on you!   This week is looking like a PERFECT week to be out riding!!   Be sure to sled safe and RIDE RIGHT!!

Finally!!! Grooming the past couple of days is creating a decent base for the rest of sledding season. 81 N and 96 have been groomed. BE CAREFUL… none of the trails are signed yet but the crew is heading out today/tomorrow to get that done. Be cautious on 81… there are a few wet spots! 96 is ‘smooth sailing’ according to our groomer operator Avery Ouellette. Be safe… ride right… have fun!!!

We have had several small squalls in the past few days but definitely nothing to brag about!! We are closely watching this weekend’s potential storm hoping we get the white stuff rather than the rain!!

Nothing like a little afternoon snowfall to cheer up those of us dying to hit our groomed trails!! Not much appearing in the accumulation totals… but nevertheless… gives us some hope!!!

HUGE thank you to our club member Ken Dumond for taking the time out of his day to repair this culvert on the 79. A little late in the year but we got it done! Let it snow ❄️

12_09_2022Club members were able to get out on the trails and clear some fell trees this week! The 105 has been done from Van Buren to Stockholm, Maine.   There was at least 25 spots where trees had fallen due to high winds and heavy early snow. As soon as more snow falls, we will be out on the trails clearing up the rest of the blockages.    Sled season is JUST around the corner... get yourselves ready to Come Play!!
